    I've thought about this solution, but I juyst got used to having a laptop, and it's way easier for me as I sometimes have to move from on e house to another and it would suck if I had to move my desktop, or to let it and not being able to use it.


    I know my CPU is not that good compared to my GPU, though anyway I think it's still pretty decent for the use I have of my computer. I play only LoL and CoD4, and I think my CPU is good enough to handle the use of let's say, 2 web browsers + microsoft word + Skype + maybe 2 or 3 other programs, but nothing huge.
    And when I open Windows Task Manager, my memory usage is always far above my CPU usage. Example: right now, I just switched on my laptop, opened Firefox (with a ton of tabs... not "loaded" though, dunno if it still have a big impact on memory usage), and the Task Manager says my CPU usage is 30-35%, while my memory usage is already 60-65%.


    So it really looks like it's more of a lack of RAM issue.
    Anyway, I'll add my 4 GB of RAM when I receive it, and I'll let you know if things are going more smoothly :D


    And if it doesn't change anything, well I'll just stick with my current laptop anyway, I just bought it this summer and I don't want a desktop PC for now :S

    Yup, I got a 64 bit Windows 8.1. I actually bought it (60€ or so) because this laptop came with FreeDOS.

    Because actually, the shipping for this one would be EUR 40,74 O.o DUnno where that product comes from lol. Furthermore I'd have to wait a lot.

    The motherboard is MSI MegaBook GE60 (MS-16GF) (I used AIDA64 to find info)
    And the motherboard chipset is Intel Lynx Point HM87, Intel Haswell (if ever that matters :P )


    The thing is, I bought this laptop this summer, but it's already lagging sometimes, and going sometimes really slow when I open, for instance, 2 browsers and 1 game (well I have a shitload of tabs opened, but still ^^ ).
    And I have pretty decent hardware:
    CPU: Intel Core i5-4200H (Dual-Core 2.8 GHz / 3.4 GHz Turbo - cache 3 Mo)
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M


    So I was wondering why it was slow. I checked Windows Task Manager, and I noticed I quickly reach 70% or more memory usage.


    I have only 4 GB of RAM currently, so I guess that's the problem. My GPU and CPU need more than 4 GB I think ^^ Actually almost every single person who bought this laptop and left a comment on the website said that it was a very good laptop, but they added 4 GB of RAM because 4 GB wasn't enough.



    Well, from what Yuri said, the 3 "memory bars" I gave the the link of are compatible with my laptop, so except if you have something to add, I think I'll go for this one:

    I want to add more RAM to my laptop. I'm asking for some help because I don't know anything about adding stuff to a laptop, and I'd like to buy something compatible xD

    Side note (for every trusted player): Don't use the !warn command if there are many trusted players online, just warn the player without using the command. Otherwise the guy may receive several warns for the same thing at once, and get tembanned unfairly unfairly.


    Wouldn't it be better to put it in the players settings, like the dog/slave option? so you can switch back when there are enough player again?

    True, would be easier. Well, then the unlockable would enable the option for the player then. Because if it's just an option that everyone can use, any newbie could toggle it (maybe without even knowing what it is, just to test), and he would die even quicker as king... Only experienced players should have access to this option.

    On topic:


    Improvement ideas:


    - Vote system: A map which was just played shouldn't appear in the vote at the end (or maybe even in the vote of the next map as well). To avoid "too popular" maps to be played too often and kill the maps diversity. Maybe you could even add a dvar so we could choose in cfg for how many maps a map which was just played wouldn't appear again.


    - Vote system: I don't know whether you fixed this or not. I think that when the map ends, if you don't click at all, it will make you vote for the first map of the list. Maybe you should add a blank line on top of the list, so if you don't click, you don't vote for any map. If ever no one votes, the map will be chosen randomly from the list.


    - Unlockables: Add an ability, so that the king can toggle the fact that assassins come back in his team when he kills them.
    It could be clicked several times in the Unlockables, to choose between: Normal (assassins become guards when killed), Hardcore (Assassins don't come back), Knife lover (assassins would only come back if knifed).
    It would be good because sometimes, when there are not many people on the server, and the only experienced guy is picked to be king, it can be very boring for everyone (assassins keep dying, and guards/king have almost no one to kill because there are almost never more than 2 or 3 assassins because the king keeps killing them.
    It would cost a lot of points, maybe 5, so newbies would never pick it.
    I couldn't think of a way to toggle it easily though, because you cannot know if you will be king the next round...
    Maybe it would be a lot of work for not much, if so, just don't do it, but I just thought it would be great sometimes :P

    Any chance i can get an access to the logs?
    I can't reproduce some of the problems, like the things yuri mentioned, or the mapvote bug.

    About 5., I just noticed it when I played yesterday. Well it felt like it was doing more dmg than it used to, though I haven't changed anything regarding knife/throwing knife dmg compared to the main server (.30).

    Just uploaded those 3 maps:


    "mp_oukhta": "Outskirt",
    "mp_seatown": "Seatown",
    "mp_seatown_snow": "Snow Seatown"


    (changed my mind about oukhta :P Well we'll see if it's good)


    You can call votes for these maps now. Also members should be able to !map now, but I'm not sure, let me know if it works (you can write it in shoutbox).

    We just played mp_bo2_town, it's a really nice map. And actually it's small. I thought it was a big map. For now I'll put it in the rotation for 20+ players, because the download is really big for a map, and some players will always leave when they see it I think.



    On another note, looks like there are many nice maps here: Team [4T4] : Sur tous les fronts...
    They all seem recent, detailed, more or less beautiful.
    But too many, ugh. Can't take the time to dl and test everything. If you know some of them and know they're good, and would be good for KTK, you can suggest them in this thread. Though I don't know if I'll have the time to upload them in the following weeks.

    Can't you disable Killstreaks for maps?


    I disagree, on Nuketown for example, you can hide in one of the house while someone is using AC130 or heli, and you can wallbang the other house. Not saying it's awesomly fun, but at least you don't keep dying every 5 seconds :D Rust has also a few places where you can hide away from AC/Heli, and anyway it's way harder to get hardpoints on this map. I totally agree with Maze1 though, I think it's really bad for the mod. People like it so I let it (it appears very rarely in the vote though). It's a good idea to remove some hardpoints from maze1, I'll do it (well, when we'll have updated the mod on the main server ^^ )


    The problem with damnalley is that if I disable hardpoints, assassins will win very easily each round, and if I don't disable them, either assassins will win easily, or if king survives a bit and guards get hardpoints, it will become hell for assassins. There is litteraly not a single place to hide from airsupport on this map.



    I'm not a big fan of all those maps :/
    We already have 3 different poolday maps, so unless you can find one which is really nice or awesome in some way, I won't add others. This one looks very old and looks kinda ugly IMO.
    mp_gob_aim_v2 also looks old/ugly to me. I'll see, maybe it can be fun, I think I'll add it in the maps list (but I don't think it will go in rotation).
    mp_oukhta looks really big. You say it's for 10+ people but I'd say at least 20+ ^^ And I'm not a big fan of maps which look really "desolated", all grey and sad ^^
    I'll see, maybe I will add it in the future if we need some fresh air, but for now I think I'll add mp_bo2_town (which is from the same mapper), and see how it goes.

    @Slonder we already have some big maps ^^ Like mp_garena. But it's for 30+ players and with the slots number reduced to 32 that doesn't happen a lot x)

    Added mp_archway to the rotation, it's a fun little map :P


    I won't add damnalley to the rotation, just tested it, either king dies in no time because it's way easier for assassins at the beginning of a round, or he survives long enough, guards begin getting hardpoints, and it becomes a AC130/airstrike/mortars/etc hell ^^
    I'll let it in the maps list if you want to play on it sometimes though.


    Hey, I won't be able to give you 30 prestiges, because both our stats page and gametracker say that you have less than 100 hours playtime. With less than 100 hours playtime, it's more likely that you were around prestige 15.
    You had a good ratio and kill/min, so I'll give you prestige 18.


    Sorry if you were really prestige 30, but I can't remember everyone's level. If you find a screenshot later, you can post it here later.


    Also making a backup of his rank is really easy,you should have made one before changing PC. And you should make one now (link to the tutorial in first post).

    Cant connect to the Server. It keeps downloading the mentioned new mod.ff, tries to load the mod and redownloads it again ending up in a infinite loop.


    I think it should be fixed. At least the download went fine for me.

    Played about half an hour. Several problems. I played without bots. We were 2 for some time (on lolzor) and 5 at the end (on killhouse).


    1- Hardpoints. Still really weird, most of the time I get no hardpoints at all. Actually, it looks like I was only getting hardpoints the first round of a map. As a king, I never got the auto-weapon I should have earned (actually I can't remember if I got it the first round). I was king the first round and got RC-car, then the carepackage, but then didn't earn the Predator. These were the 3 things I had picked. Though, except if you changed it, I think king should only earn airstrike and mortars, no matter what he has picked, right?
    Note: On lolzor carepackage should have been disabled and I still got it; but I think it's because I hadn't exec the cfg so it wasn't disabled the first round, when I got it.


    2- Final killcam (note: I assume it can't be because of 3xP' files since we're using only your files on the test server): Sometimes it's really really short. All the time, it's not 6 seconds like it should be (as I set the dvar to 6). And the last round I played, it was like half a second (it begins at the same time the killing hit happens). The same happens on our main server on 2.09.30. It wasn't happening on 2.09.27.



    3) Just a thing to change slightly IMO:
    "Disabled hardpoints:" under the motd should be changed to "Disabled hardpoints (on this map):", to avoid confusion.


    The minplayer = 2, and the slave instead of dog are working like a charm btw :thumbup:


    Oh I found out marker_mp is the carepackage ^^


    4) And about the hardpoints dvars, I let them like this for those I want on all maps: set scr_ktk_noNukeMaps "mp_test" (for example)
    You put it this way so I assumed I shouldn't write set scr_ktk_noNukeMaps ""



    5) Aaaand last thing, is knife inflicting the same amount of damage as throwing knife now? 2 knifes cuts and the king has almost no HP left (I set the throwing knife dmg to 134, but the regular knife should inflict 100).

    Here's a list of things i have done so far:

    1. - Added an ammocounter for the javelin so you can see how many ammo you have left
    2. - Added a new dvar for the javelin so admins can set the needed time to lock a target
    3. - Added a message when the javelin is out of ammo
    4. - Added a button to choose between dog and slave (player settings menu)
    5. - Added a button to check the MOTD & Rules again (class menu (the one you see when you press 'esc' ingame))
    6. - Added dvars to control the radius and damage of the tripwires
    7. - Fixed the carepackage landing on an RC-XD
    8. - Reduced the needed amount of players for the gamestart to 2


    Aw yeah I love you *.* All those dvars <3


    Now the last thing I really want is the hardpoints system change, and then, I can finally die in peace xD (you know... we talked about it through steam :D I'll send the chat logs to you if you don't remember :D )

    Well, for the update to go live, first we need Viking to stop making changes to the mod :D Because we need the final version (at least, the final .31 version :P ) before implementing our scripts (3xP' scripts) in the mod. For exemple, the defusing feature was added by Duffman, that's why it's not on the test server, because we're currently using the original files from Viking :)
    So, it will uploaded on the main server once pretty much all bugs reported on this thread are fixed, and all possible improvements were made :P
    I think we're not too far from this ^^ Well now we need to test the updated mod since Viking just gave me a new mod.ff :)
    Did anyone check if the settings (in Options) are finally "permanent"? (and not resetting every map or every round or every reconnect ^^ )

    @Viking I noticed a typo, it's Mosin Nagant not Mosin Nagat, not sure if you care as I don't think it shows up in game ^^
    Also what is marker_mp? Never seen it in any config before.
    And m40a3_acog_mp? Is it simply M40A3 with ACOG? :D


    @all If you think of any map where it would be good to remove certain hardpoints, just le me know! For now I removed:
    - Heli from poolday and poolday_v2,
    - Carepackage from lolzor,
    - Poison from lolzor and lolzor2 (if ever it comes back in rotation... Could be playable now that we can remove hardpoints!),
    - RC-Car from lolzor2 (idem... if ever it comes back in rotation).
    That's all that was on the top of my head. I'll edit it when other things come to my mind. Let me know what you'd like and I'll decide whether I'll use your idea or not :P
