    So hopefully, as many people said, you've changed and you're now ready. But you must know, as Kuro said (even if not said diplomatically enough :D ), that if you do anything wrong, you can get demoted any time. It's not a threat. It's just how things are, for everyone and not only for you. Because we need trusted players who show the example, who are fair, fun to play with, and above all, respectful.



    I will set you trusted another day when I have time. Or ask another CoD4 admin in the meantime if you want.

    Actually no, I check literally all threads on the forums :D Or at least you can be sure I'll check all CoD4-related stuff.


    Anyway, for now I simply don't have the time to take a decision, I haven't even really completely read your app, to think about it, to talk about it with anyone or anything. I'm just really busy this week, and maybe the next one too. If you don't get an answer soon, it just means that I have no time, nothing else ^^

    I'm glad to see the final 2.09.31 version is finally released :thumbup:

    And as I didn't clarify, I'm looking for a headset which I can use for everything. I don't really want a headset specific to gaming, especially one which has a mic stuck in it, because I also want to use it for everyday music.
    The thing is, I don't game a lot anymore, and I'm also not listening to music hours per day, I don't even listen to music everyday sometimes (except while driving but there I don't use a headset :D ). That's the reason why I don't want to put 150€ in it.
    But I still would appreciate one which has a rather good quality, because when I listen to great music, I really enjoy being able to appreciate a great sound quality :)


    And also I wouldn't really like wandering around in the street with a too "gaming-styled" headset on my head, so I'd rather buy a "normal" headset and add a mic to it, like the one mirko advised me.

    Just to clear something up: I never said I wanted your rights to be removed, anyway no one would have his rights removed for just a kick.


    Just saying myst's reaction can be understandable. If no one gave a single fuck about rules, it would a lot more shit on the servers.


    Once again I don't care that you kicked this guy for this reason. I know you're not a regular CoD4 player and you're not aware of every rule.


    In my eyes, the problem is that you're getting "mad" about a situation that you partly created yourself. You don't like people complaining about everything all the time, yeah I totally get that as well (I haven't checked what happened on the server, and I don't know everyone's behavior). But if someone complains, as I said, you could as well just say "okay I'll check this to be sure". Or anything else that doesn't make the situation worse...


    Seriously, I'm 99% sure you say a sentence like that, and you can play in peace for the rest of the game.


    Teasing the people who annoy you doesn't make things better. Well, IMO. That was just my point.

    My personal opinion: I don't really like your behavior on this thread Leech. You're acting like this just because you know you won't get kicked out of the clan anyway. But I don't think it fits to a member's behavior on the public board, especially after you teased myst in the shoutbox. You tell him you're waiting for him and then you don't even give him a proper answer.


    For now there isn't even a rule about camping. However it was being discussed in a recent past, and it's most likely that a rule will be added (only about heavy camping, and maybe only in S&D for campers in "attack"). Because otherwise I don't see why camping should be forbidden. Campers are not really hard to kill. They kill you once, you know where they are, you kill them. Well, that's not the current topic. But it should be discussed more here to know exactly what the rule should be: 3xP' CoD4 server rules - Discussion. I myself basically never play on HC or Nuketown so I'm surely not the best to decide (but I still like to give my opinion :P ).


    As there is nothing about camping written in the rules, it's normal that myst doesn't agree with your kick. He's not obliged to know everything that is going on on the board.
    So, thank you myst for writing this post and doing it in a nice way without flaming or anything.



    It's indeed not a big issue, but it would be so much easier if everyone was answering each other nicely, especially members/admins on the servers. It's not hard to say: "There is a discussion about camping on the board, you can check it, and kicking for camping is tolerated". Or if you don't know about that, smth like: "Okay, I'll check the rules to see what's up with this".
    There wouldn't even be a need to spend time to write stuff on such a thread.
    And I assure you writing this sentence will take you less time than having a whole argument with another player.

    I'm willing to buy a headset, with a good price/quality ratio if possible, price up to about 80€, most likely between 50-80€. I know it's not that much for a headset, but I don't want to put more than this.


    I searched a bit and I found this one, which cost 200€ at the time of its release in 2012: Focal Casque audio nomade Spirit One Rouge - Casque audio - Achat / Vente sur Materiel.net
    It still can be found at around 150€ on some websites.
    Apparently it has a pretty decent sound, especially for its price, but it is fragile and I saw multiple comments of people saying they had to return it to the after-sales service, that's why I'm hesitating.


    Also I want to buy a mic and mirko advised me this one: Zalman ZMMIC1 Micro cravatte: Amazon.fr: Informatique


    I thought I could write it here in case some audio experts could advise me on this headset, or maybe advise me to buy another one for more or less the same price :D

    Well the idea behind the xpmulti dvars was to:
    1) make it easier for beginners to level up, so they can catch up more easily with higher prestige people
    2) but also to make it a bit harder to level at high prestiges, to keep some challenge and not have everyone reach very high prestiges easily
    In the end, it would take about the same time (or maybe a bit more) to reach the last prestige, but it would benefit the beginners. The hardest prestiges to get would be the ones which don't bring any new perk or anything as only 28 points are needed to have everything basically.


    But anyway, not a big deal at all, was just a small idea :P




    I have a few other things to add (I just read again the .doc files I had sent you through Steam). I picked up those I thought were the most important.


    Small bugs:


    5) Hardpoints and nades cannot be used for the rest of the round when you turn terminator.
    You “lose” the hardpoints you already had, when you turn termi, until next round, or if u get killed and become guard again.
    Really annoying, for 2 reasons, the first being you can’t use the hardpoints and nades, second being since you can’t make room by using them, you won’t get the upcoming hardpoints. Even though they don’t show up anymore when you turn termi, they’re still there and take the room.


    I think this one is fixed is .31, you've done something to fix it?:
    4) The carepackage bug.
    When you use another hardpoint before using your CP, then you won’t be able to use it until next round.
    For instance you earn CP, then airstrike, then you use your airstrike, and then you try to launch your CP, it won’t work.




    And 2 improvement ideas (which are really little things, not important at all but would be cool):


    3) The final killcam.
    Really not an important idea, and maybe hard to make. However, I thought it would be really nice if we could see both the guy who inflicted the most dmg to the king, and then the guy who killed him. Sometimes the killer was just a lucky guy, while someone just before performed some amazing action and the kill was “stolen” (many people complain about “killstealing” :P ). If the same guy inflicted most dmg and killed, there would be only 1 killcam indeed.
    People like final killcams so even if there is 10/15 sec of killcam, people would still like it I think.


    This one is a bit less important since we can choose between dog and slave, but would still be really nice:
    11) A toggle out / in system for dog / assassin / king.
    People can choose “no” or “yes” or “idc” (by default “idc”) e.g. (“Do you like to be dog?”; “Do you like to be first assassin?”; Do you like to be King?” in the options page).
    For example with dog, if for instance the system would have picked someone who chose option “no”, it will check if on the server there are people who chose “yes”. If there are, it will pick instead someone randomly from the people who chose “yes”.
    It would be awesome because it would avoid rounds lasting 30 secs because some people hate being king and get killed in no time, avoid people leaving because they are dog and hate it, and overall everyone would be happier because they would get what they like more often.





    You can rotate the order of the prestige icons as you wish, all you have to do is to switch the names of the iwi files within the iwd.


    So basically I could also change the iwi files, for instance those of the 10 last prestiges, to replace them with the BO2 emblems? :P

    One little improvement idea again: When someone uses Heli, could it say on assassins' screen: "Shoot down the heli!", or something like this? I think not everyone knows they can shoot it. Sometimes with some teamwork it could be taken down quickly, but usually people just don't give a fuck and get killed over and over again without even trying to shoot it -.-

    Just got an idea.
    Since quite a long time I was thinking that more prestiges would be cool. Because I've seen several players who have begun palying less and less after reaching prestige 55. And because it's always fun to earn levels and prestiges. It's also a way to show who's da boss when you're a higher prestige :D
    But I assume you can't add new prestiges without having all the players losing their current prestige? Or would it be possible?


    Also, even if that is not possible, would it maybe be possible to change the order of the prestiges emblems? I don't know what you think about this, but personally I find pretty much all prestiges emblems from 46 to 55 kinda ugly. And when you reach prestige 55, you're stuck forever with an ugly prestige :D (well, maybe it's actually a nice emblem, but in small size on the score table, it looks ugly IMO).
    The ones I like the most are from 31 to 45 (from Black Ops). Maybe you coukd put those ones after the 46-55 ones.
    I know they are in chronological order, but we don't really care, do we? :D
    Not a big deal indeed. But it kinda sucks that higher prestiges get less beautiful emblems IMO.



    If for any reason those things won't be changed/added, I thought about something else.
    Would it be possible to create several xpmulti dvars, for different prestiges brackets?
    The reason is, I think the XP needed to reach higher prestiges should be incremental. But if we can't change this because it would fuck up players' prestiges, why not doing it the other way around ^^
    So it won't discourage beginners, because they'll still gain a nice amount of XP per kills/hardpoints etc, but when you reach higher prestiges, and those prestiges are kinda useless except for the sake of earning prestiges, it should take longer to reach each prestige.
    So for instance there would be different xpmulti dvars for prestiges 0 to 10, 10 to 20, 20 to 30, 30 to 40, 40 to 50, 50 to 55.

    On another note, a few players reported in the shoutbox that on 2.09.31, assassins can now earn Nuke via CPs. Idk if you did this on purpose, but I think that's a really really bad thing for the mod.

    That's off-topic but I'll answer here because I can't move the post to the other topic... Anyway:


    1) I'm not a fan of this idea. You get into gas, you die, that's it :D But anyway, you can wait to see what Viking thinks about it. Though, if I remember well, he said there is no spot left for other perks in the Unlockables menu.


    2) Nope. He already kills in one hit. Give him more speed or more HP and he would become overpowered IMO. Anyway, in 2.09.31, you'll be able to choose whether you want to be dog or slave. So if you don't like dog, it won't be a problem anymore.


    3) Definitely against this. It's already hard for beginners to have fun sometimes, when high skilled & high prestige people are on the server. You can already have ALL perks + passive abilities + additional weapons with prestige.
    I'm totally cool with having prestiges to grind even if that doesn't bring anything more than just an icon.


    4) Might be cool. Maybe less heavy than the regular smoke nade, for fps's sake. And should be "hard" to obtain, otherwise it will be a smoke fest and it will quickly become really annoying. So maybe earning it via CP, or weaponbox (or 7 killstreak).


    5) That's a small bug that happens rarely, because it's only when you first join the server, and only if you join as guard and not assassin. Really not annoying to me, but yeah if @Viking wants to take the time to fix it, why not, I think it's a small bug and not something made on purpose.



    Now I'll close this topic, as the issue reported in this thread is fixed in 2.09.31 already.

    The last changes to the scripts were back in may 2014 and there are still some points on the to do list, but if you want i continue working on it.
    Kill the king is done now (i think) so i could work on a new project.

    I played a very little bit, and I don't like it when we lose our weapon by buying one (I think only as assassin). For instance if you have an Intervention, and you buy something in the hope to get a Javelin or a M21, and you get a R700, as it replaces your Intervention, you actually paid to get a less good weapon that what you had. I assume that's part of the mthod you used to fix the weapon auto-switching (?), though I think it kinda sucks because of this.
    Also idk if it's possible, but it would be good if you can't get something that you already have. For instance I got 3 Javelins in a row, and that's useless ^^ Same with other weapons, R700, tripwire...



    Something else: I think it would be good, if possible, to add a button for the Help Menu just under MOTD & Rules when you press Esc. Not everyone presses the Quick chat key.
    You could name it "About KTK - Help Menu" or "About KTK - Get started", or just "About KTK", as you wish :D

    I didn't read through the whole topic, but i already have a zombie mod.
    Nothing big, only the basics... A single zombie is chosen at the beginning and has to infect the other players to get them in his team.
    The round is over when all players are zombies.
    The player who was infected last will be the new 'only' zombie in the next round.


    Is it more like zom_db (basically a lot of different zombies with different damages and perks, humans/hunters have 100 HP and can get back HP by killing zombs, and have mines & repels), or more like afterlife/EHD zombies (only knife for zombies, 1 hit = kill, humans have to aim for the head otherwise it takes a whole clip to kill a zombie)? Or something different?

    Little improvement idea:


    Create dvars so we can chose the Heli HP depending on the number of players online (maybe from 1 to 7, from 7 to 15, from 15 to 25, for 25+).


    On a map like Uprise for instance, if there are 5 to 10 people, it's really hard to get rid a a heli, almost impossible if the gunner is good. On the other hand, if there are 30 people online, it can get shot down in 5 seconds.



    Edit: Side question
    If the Heli has 3000 HP, it means it will require roughly 30 shots to bring it down? A shot = 100 dmg to heli? Or does it change a bit according to perks for instance? And a stuck arrow would inflict 300 dmg (if dvar is set to 300)?


    maybe 3xp should start advertising on like mpc or other big gaming forums? even in other languages forums (if you are already doing it then sorry)


    I have no idea what mpc is, but anyway personally I don't know a single gaming forum where advertising is allowed :huh: Except if you mean paid ads banners or stuff like that, but then well... It's paid.


    In some points I agree with your statement. But what if people are just waiting for something like this?


    I think not many people are waiting for new stuff on CoD4 ^^ All non-bots zombies mods which used to be so popular are dead. Since several years already. I know it because I've searched for all these servers as soon as the one I was playing on was dying :P



    The Ktk server is always very populated and therefore its maybe not the worst idea to build something like that.


    The KTK server is maintained populated. By mod updates, map rotation updates, giving perms to trustworthy people to keep the server a good place to play, etc. It takes time to maintain a server populated. And it's even harder to populate a server which isn't already populated. So first that would be a lot of work to create the mod, and then a lot of work to populate the server, and a lot of work to keep it populated.



    If we can promote it right, we could have a full server all the time.


    If you invest thousands of dollars in advertising maybe :D Or if this mod only requires 10 slots to be fun to play ^^
    If it was "easy" to have full servers, our servers would always be full. They aren't. They are populated, yes, but most of the time the max slots number isn't reached.



    Its just quite sad that more modders are getting inactive, they could use this Mod/Project as a new challenge to come back.


    And also, it would expand the 3xP community!


    I could try to learn all this modding stuff, but it would me probably take some months to learn the basics. It would be more efficient to take a experienced modder, right? :D
    Maybe you show this thread the modders of this clan and listen to their opinion.


    Well you can easily find ways to get in touch with Duffman for instance, by typing 3xP' Duffman on google.
    But he hasn't worked on anything CoD4-related since quite a long time as far as I'm aware.



    I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just saying what I consider being the truth. I think it would be incredibly hard to populate a new server with a new gamemod on CoD4. Indeed, nothing is impossible. But everything requires time. And the time needed to make this project a well-working project would be huge IMO. Now if you can find people who are willing to put so much effort in this project, then it's all good. But I highly doubt you will. And I recommend you not to rush into this project if you're not sure you can possibly make it work out, otherwise you'll just lose huge amounts of time for nothing. Except if you do it for the sake of improving your skills, as $ i w y said :P
