What is the best time to organise an event?

Hello,

The question of this topic is clear and to answer that question I would like you to fill in the strawpoll linked in this post.
Please compare your clock to the clock of the organiser which he will link in the topic of the event, if you still want to know what timezone that clock is related to, just look further on the page.

In the following strawpoll the times are related to this clock: Current Local Time in Amsterdam, Netherlands .
Due to a few things I oversaw I have created a new strawpoll.
What I would like to add is that this clock has 2 timechanges per year, check this link out to see when they occur and in what way the time changes: Time changes in year 2016 for Netherlands – Amsterdam
On that same website you can look up the time changes which apply for you.
In this new strawpoll I have taken the fact in account that some people irregular activities which means that it doesn't always happen every time on the same week, weekday and time.
If you have any other irragular activities in your life which also occur often, then the statements which regard 'I often go out in the evening with friends...' also apply to you.
When you fill in the strawpoll, think about when you have free time in your average week. (this mainly regards when school starts again)
Please fill in the strawpoll, you can choose more than 1 option.

Keep in mind that before an event starts there is/should always be a collectiontime, this could differ from 30 minutes to an hour.
In this time you are able to join the server/event.
The strawpoll is only a guide for the event-organisers.
More strawpolls might be made in the future since 'the average week' could change a lot per person and is sometimes hard to predict when you're trying to predict 'your average week' 3 months ahead.

The best time for all timezones is sunday 13:00-16:00 and its good for all time zones dont matter if before or behind us in time. i would go away from evening times @ weekend cause people usually go out then.

Eh... okay, possibly... the way I look at it though is that people would be doing real life stuff in the daytime which keeps the evening available for free time.
beside that... I feel like most of the gamers aren't that kind of people who would go out very often, now I don't want to make the statement that gamers are not very social people what would come over like an insult to many people, because if I would then that would be a misconception.. If I look at my personal experience with cod4 events including codjumping events then they were also always in the evening.

Anyway, I think I will ask people personally online then or I will make a new strawpoll with more timevariations.

This is kind of true at some cases, i go out like once ever 2-3 Weeks @ we. But i know that there are alot people where this case doesnt fit, if u look f.e drizz and noob they go out like every weekend.
Also you can move things like buying something to eat easliy to before or after the event if it happens in the daytime, but meeting with friend and going out to drinksomething, mostly cant be moved.

Whenever u think is the best time i recommend picking sunday, @ sunday evening most ppls dont go out, and all buisnesses are closed.

Ye, I think I will make another strawpoll in this same topic which, when I am back home at my pc again, I will spread around (because not everyone always looks back at a topic once they've seen the first post.)

has a very strong point, because this means that for people in West-America (for example San Fracsisco) that would mean that the event would be from 6:00-9:00 which is a time equal to when you've a workday which means that you only have to go to bed early on Saturday (I think even when you go out that should be doable once every period of time there is an event) and if you live closer to Europe then you've got a better time. The same idea goes up for when you live in Austrailia (for example Sydney) where the event would start at 23:00-2:00 which is doable if you can deal with sleepdeprivation for on the Monday and beside that, an event doesn't necessarily have to take 3 hours long, I mean, from experience speedrunevents take about max 1,5 hours which makes you be able to sleep at 0:30. Sure it's not very practical, also regarding the 350 ping but if you live closer circumstances should be way better. For the Australia-part though for what I just said it would go until end of October because then the DST-system there and in Europe it will cause that an event would be at 1:00-4:00 instead of 23:00-2:00.

But what about (still assuming the 3-hour eventperiod) 19:30-22:30 (Europe) in the winter.
That would mean for San Francisco that the event would start at 12:30-15:30 and for Sydney at 9:30-12:30.
In the first place that would look good, until you realise that if you live between Europe and Sydney in terms of timezones, it would be midnight..

A new strawpoll has been created in the first post of this topic due to the fact that I oversaw a few things.
Everythings in Italic has been added to the post so you don't have to read everything all over again if you have already done that.

Hey frisbeesky, sorry in advance I'm going off-topic

I just want to tell you I think you'll get more response to your threads & posts if they are (a lot) shorter.
I'm pretty sure the average forum user never reads your posts (I may be wrong, and maybe all people interested in CJ actually read them, but I don't think so).

Doesn't matter how well written is your post, if it's too long, people won't read it.

And I think making them shorter wouldn't be that hard, actually I think many parts of your posts could be removed (or put into spoilers if you really want to write them anyway). Because you're making them complex and not easy/fun to read by adding everything you think & thought about the subject in your thread, and 99% of the time there's no use in doing this.
Mostly because very few people will be as interested as you are yourself in what you are thinking/writing.

I may be completely wrong and maybe it's just that I'm not interested enough in CJ to appreciate your posts, but I doubt it. Anyway, if ever that's the case, just ignore this post. But I thought this piece of advice could save everyone (and especially you) a lot of time, and maybe improve your efficience.
