Sounds silly, but i dont really know the specs of it, just that it has 4 gb ram, 32 bit and thats pretty much it.

I dont really know much about building a pc so could really use with all the help i can get.
And my budget can really vary because i dont really have a set amount i can spend just want to know what parts i should be getting.

i believe at the moment i am only using the on board graphics, so need a graphics card and also need to upgrade the ram.

Fixed the problem now, the graphics driver i needed isnt yet available for Windows 8 so ive downgraded to Windows 7 and it works fine now, Thanks for the help

Yes, i know it supports it though, i played minecraft before although i have upgraded to windows 8, could that effect it?

Can someone please help me, my minecraft keeps failing to open with an error like 'Unable to find OpenGL Mode' and 'Bad Video Drivers'.
But i have upgraded them and it still isnt working. ive looked at Minecraft forums and none of the suggestions are working.
