Will that be alright with low'ish settings on cod 4?

So i have 4gb ram on this pc, is that alright aslong as i upgrade my graphics and processor? or should i upgrade to 8gb ram or something?

All my friends seem to think that ram means everything like with loads of ram you will run games perfectly, but thats wrong right?
