hello, i have followed a few tutorials on youtube, yes i tried to find anything about this on google too, but didn't succeed. so my question is, why can't i see my custom textures in cod4 radiant which i imported through asset manager?

I had the same problem myself. Use the 'Find / Replace' option in the textures menu and type the name of the default texture or whatever you have there atm in the 'find' tab and type the one you imported in the 'replace' tab. Sometimes the texture categories glitch out and this seems to be one of the few ways I can find my textures after I've imported them. Once the custom texture is showing in the brush you can pick the 'show in use' option in the textures menu and it should appear there now. Good Luck!

Yes the other issue was that I couldn't find the texture in the radiant, but the bigger problem is that I can't see the texture itself in the 3D window...

Have you tried compiling the map and see if you were able to see the texture.
And it could sometimes help to reinstall modtools. Or change some settings in asset manager.
For example: check the box with Chechnya.Hoped it helped. Radiant is just a shitty program :p

Hmm, weird because my asset manager looks like this:
I suggest reinstalling modtools:
Mod Tools SDK download - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Mod DB -
You just have to tick a material type thats meant for brush textures...
which is not "2d" but "world phong" -
aha, in the tutorial it was 2d, thanks for both of your helps, it's working now
have a nice day -
I had that same problem first deadmau5 but after setting it to world phong it worked aswell. I think 2D is for minimaps.
