I'm getting ready to sell my Accord and the car is in decent shape overall but the engine bay is honestly embarrassing, years of dust and oil residue caked on everything. I've seen listings where the bay looks brand new and I'm convinced it helps with first impressions even if buyers say it doesn't matter. My worry though is all the horror stories about water getting into connectors and sensors after a steam clean, leaving you with electrical gremlins you didn't have before. A friend mentioned he'd used a Thorough engine bay steam cleaning for vehicles in Abu Dhabi and had zero issues afterwards, which surprised me because I always assumed steam and electronics don't mix. I'm curious how these places protect the sensitive bits like the fuse box, alternator and ECU while still getting everything clean. Has anyone here had it done on a daily driver and actually been fine? Would hate to cost myself a sale by creating a new problem.
