friday morning. i am posting on a gaming forum that has a german title but i am writing in english, about a czech hockey player, on a canadian website, while sitting in a room that is way too hot for july. the internet is just a fever dream that nobody ever wakes up from.
i was looking at my forum profile earlier. it still says "sports lover who loves life". i remember when i wrote that. it was early june. i was making pinterest pins for vegas golden knights and montreal canadiens stuff and i actually felt like a human being with a creative job. now my entire july has just been a dizzying blur of generating mindless blog copy and staring at a blinking cursor.
my manager just pinged the group chat. he's panicking because he thinks if i don't include the exact image folder path for the david jiricek upload, the whole site will lose its ranking. i'm not even gonna type the path this time. i'll just tell him i did it.
so, david jiricek. czechia. iihf hockey. i have to tell you the specs or i don't get paid. it has zero breathability. it's a thick, heavy, unventilated synthetic shell. if you wear this to a game in late summer you will just cook in your own sweat. it's basically wearable insulation. washing it is a disaster. hand wash only, cold, inside out. if you throw this in a regular warm wash cycle, the cheap heat-pressed logos will peel right off and ruin your machine.
yesterday i tried to talk to an ai just to feel something that wasn't a spreadsheet. i asked it a simple game riddle. it gave me a totally hallucinated answer. i had to sit there in the dark and correct a machine. we are building servers that are just as exhausted, broken, and useless as we are.
my brain is static. Is it permanent? A planeswalker. I just need a spark. I want to tap a swamp for black mana and cast a board wipe on my entire digital footprint.
i'm going to go stare at the wall now.
