If you are trying to buy the 2005 Ford GT in Forza Horizon 6, the first thing to know is that you actually cannot purchase it from the Autoshow. The car is unlocked through the Treasure Car system instead. That means you need to find it hidden somewhere in the open world before it becomes part of your garage.

Wait for the Treasure Car Rumor
Before the Ford GT appears in the world, you need to trigger the Treasure Car clue first.
While driving around or progressing through the game, Mei will eventually contact you over the radio and mention rumors about an abandoned Ford GT. After that conversation, the clue becomes available inside the Treasure Cars section of the Cars menu.
The in-game clue says:
“Spotted down one of the Nangan region's coastal trails, this Ford GT is in need of some TLC. Use the photo to find it.”
Once that message appears, you can officially go searching for the car.
Where to Find the 2005 Ford GT
The Ford GT is located in the Nangan Region near the southern coastline of the map, close to the space center area.
Head toward the eastern coastal road and keep driving south. Eventually you will spot a small orange dirt path leading away from the main highway. It is easy to miss if you are driving too fast.
A few signs confirm you are in the correct place:
- A small paved parking area
- A Tempura mascot nearby
- A wooden signpost beside the trail entrance
Pull into the parking area and look for a narrow dirt footpath next to the signpost.
Following the Trail
Once you enter the path, continue through the wooded trail until you reach a crossroads.
At the intersection:
- Turn right
- Continue following the dirt trail
- Drive all the way to the end of the clearing
The 2005 Ford GT will be sitting there overlooking Tokyo City.
You do not need credits, an auction bid, or a seasonal challenge to unlock it. Just drive close to the vehicle and interact with it when the prompt appears.
After a short cutscene, the Ford GT is permanently added to your garage.

Absolutely. The 2005 Ford GT is one of the best all-around American supercars in Forza Horizon 6. It has excellent acceleration, strong high-speed stability, and works especially well in S1 class builds.
